Joey, our founder grew up rebuilding automatic transmissions in his dad’s shop starting at 12 years old. What Services We Provide
As a team of very talented individuals, our strength comes in sticking to our core abilities and staying informed about new emerging technologies. What Services We Don’t Provide
We don’t want to be involved and will turn down work with you if there is a factory solution already available that fits your technical and budgetary requirements. We have very extensive relationships with many OEM machine builders, and asking us to build you a labeler, when we have more than 5 labeling companies you can pick from that already have the technology proven, is wasting your time and resources. Not a fan of doing that. The exception to this is if your product or factory automation need is unique and different, we will work with you to develop that into success criteria points that paint the picture for your solution.
Labor Rates and Payment Terms
Our standard terms are NET 30. We take Credit Card, Check, ACH, and Wire Transfers. Exceptions to this is not uncommon as every project is a custom build, so the expectation is we may have to get creative with terms and payments. Due to the nature of the work, every project typically includes a down payment that is a percentage of the technology hardware we are buying on your behalf. This balances the burden of financing large technology purchases, but keeps us accountable to you to stay on track with delivering a solution quickly that outperforms your expectations.
Warranty and Customer Satisfaction Promise
EX31 Automation Charles City VA creating factory automation solutions warrants the equipment manufactured by it will be free from defects in workmanship and material under normal use and service. Equipment or parts manufactured by anyone other than EX31 is sold exclusively under such warranty as the manufacturer may give to EX31 and to the extent enforceable by EX31. EX31 warrants its equipment will be designed and manufactured to perform the specified function described in EX31’s proposal as long as it is operated under proper conditions by competent trained personnel using such raw materials as may be specified. This warranty will extend for a period of 12 months from the date of shipment. If during this time, the equipment becomes inoperable or does not perform according to the specifications in Seller’s proposal, Seller will repair or replace defective items. THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES (WHETHER WRITTEN, ORAL OR IMPLIED) INCLUDING THE WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND THE WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. The liability of Seller under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the defective part(s). Unless specifically approved in advance by EX31, only EX31’s personnel are permitted to make repairs or modifications to EX31 machinery during the warranty period. Modifications or repairs effected by Customer without prior approval shall nullify all warranties. EX31’s warranties are not transferable in any form.
What is the Extent of Our Service Area?

The machinery we create is used by many global businesses, and highly proprietary. We don’t list our customer logos like many of our competitors. The way we see it, if we have to leverage our clients logos to attract new work, we are not servicing you well and that goes against our grain as a trusted factory automation resource team. Our credibility is earned, not taken. We want you to have such a great experience with us that you can’t help but leave us a review. We remain publicly accountable to you in that way.

As a team of doers, the honorable way of providing world-class service to our customers is just getting the work done quickly and without complaint. Booking service calls with us is simple and strait forward, and our commitment to you is to always be reachable and have a pre-agreed upon service plan if you need 24hr support. Every situation is unique, but we will do our best to ensure our machinery meets its performance specifications and that you are not waiting on us for weeks to get repairs done.
Factory Automation Planned Maintenance Plan?
We do not offer maintenance plans as part of our core business model. We prefer to work with your local millwrights and technical service providers as a technical resource. They are typically already well versed and trained with your safety protocols, and can react much quicker to your needs than we can from 3000 miles away. At EX31 Automation company Virginia, our goal is to make sure you are well equipped for success. We use internationally recognized brands on every machine and solution we build. Even going as far as learning what your manufacturing plant uses and sometimes specifying the same hardware components in our machine builds. Use Festo, or SMC, or MAC for pneumatics? So do we. It’s a fine detail touch that enables you to use hardware you already have setup in your MRO department, and your technical staff is already familiar with. Many of our customers already have a good supply chain in place for spare parts and SPAs with many of the same parent vendors. We want you to stay well equipped for success.
